#PROM2013

Hello Readers,
So I mentioned in my previous post that I had something new and different this week, and here it is.
First of all, this is something that I have never done, and I'm slightly nervous and maybe slightly embarrassed because..it's just weird.
But moving on...

So back in July [I can't remember the exact date] my school organised 'Prom' which is an event where you dress up really nicely and basically attend a party. I'm sure you already know what it is.
The theme for my school prom was 'black tie/red carpet'. Immediately, i knew that people were going to come out with big, maybe oversized, expensive dresses. I, on the other hand, am quite the minimalist, and I tend to just like simple things.

It gets interesting.

Everyone bought their dresses, and I heard some really big numbers (prices) being mentioned as if it was normal. I, in total, only spent about £70 on the whole thing for prom, whereas some people spent £200 and some spent more. I felt the pressure that I didn't try hard enough. So on the day, I got dresses up (in a rush) and everything and went to prom.
It was quite depressing seeing everyone looking top-notch, and really expensive, while I was just some simple chick on the side.

So i did not get in any picture. None. Nada. Zero.

Now, I slightly regret it, because I'm sure that now, I would not have cared what anybody thought about the way i looked at prom.

I'm talking too much, but there's a lesson in this.
At the end of the day, it's all about the memories. And if you don't make those memories because you are too worried about what people might say, or think about you, your just gonna miss out, and that would be one more thing added to your list of regrets.

Of course, I needed some closure. So, I recreated the look and this time, I don't a care in the world on what people might say.

Here's the full look:
