Imagine, it's a lovely Monday morning, you're having a cup of tea and a slice of toast in bed, and suddenly you get a phone call. It's one of your teachers from school. She tells you, that she has found an opportunity for you to interview a famous artist for a new Youtube Channel, in which you would be working alongside a well known photography company.
Exciting or nah?
This lovely occasion occurred yesterday, and although I was excited, I was really, very, extremely anxious. I knew that I had thrown myself unto a gigantic stage- head in first.
But like every story I tell, something usually goes wrong. It didn't quite work out because...I didn't have a phone. See, I needed to contact the person in charge of this company asap because the interview was the next day, however, Monday was a busy day for me so for majority of the day, I wasn't at home, therefore I couldn't contact anyone until 9pm. And when I did call no one picked up (Probably because it was too late, but at least I tried right?)
Long story short, they found someone else. It was supposed to be a great opportunity to see behind the scenes of something being created for Youtube, and also to see the artist, who work I actually do like.
Things like this are bound to happen, you get excited about something and then it doesn't work out. But I think if you are someone that gets pretty nervous about things but you really want to get out there and explore the things you like, then just put yourself out there, head first and think 'what's the worst that could happen?'. See where it takes you.
I'm not as upset as I was would have been. Somewhere in me, I've got a bit of hope that more great stuff will come my way. I jumped off the cliff, yes, but I'm okay and pretty much alive. I'm sure it was one of many chances to come.
Plus, the person in charge did send me an email saying they'd call me if another opportunity came up, isn't that just awesome?
